Nokia today launched upgraded models of 3 of their budget smartphones. Nokia also announced the approximate global price of the devices. However, due to taxes, competition and other factors, the pricing in different countries is generally quite different. Nokia has priced smartphones significantly cheaper in India, than in more developed countries.
Nokia’s online store in India has already listed the new Nokia phones on its homepage. And along with other details, the pricing can be clearly seen. So, instead of guess making, here are the official prices.
Official price of Nokia 2.1, 3.1 & 5.1 in India
Nokia India web store lists the new models of Nokia phones at the following prices:
Nokia 2.1 – Rs. 6,999
Nokia 3.1 – Rs. 9,499
Nokia 5.1 – Rs. 12,499
The above prices should be for the 2GB RAM variants of Nokia 3.1 & 5.1. Since the store listing is not live yet, we do not know how much of price difference will Nokia make between the two storage variants. A rough guess would be Rs. 2,000 as we see in the pricing of Nokia 6.1’s storage variants.
It’s worth noting that Nokia is pricing the 2018 variants at approximately the same price at which it sells the older. This confirms that Nokia has figured out the ideal price points for its entire portfolio and we won’t see much of shuffling. This could also be the reason we didn’t see the Nokia X6’s global launch today.
