Microsoft has today announced that its Office Apps will be completely free for those using Android or iOS devices. Microsoft has also announced that Office will now be available for Android Tablets as well and interested users can already try it via the Office for AndroidTM tablet Preview.
Microsoft Office was already free on Windows Phone and now that iOS and Android are receiving the same treatment, it’s safe to say that creating documents, spreadsheets and slides using Word, Excel and PowerPoint respectively is completely free. Users no longer require an Office 365 subscription to access all these functions, however those who do already have a subscription will continue to benefit with the goodies such as advanced editing and collaboration capabilities, unlimited OneDrive storage, Dropbox integration and a number of other benefits.

Office Apps are also made available for Android tablets, but as part of a preview. While general availability will happen in 2015, but those interested in the preview can signup using the link below to start using Office Apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) on their Android Tablets.

Office Apps are also in development for Windows 10 and will be released when the OS itself gets ready to roll out. Currently Windows 10 is in the Technical Preview stage and interested users can download and try Windows 10 on their systems.
