Nokia 7 starts receiving July security update 224D.B01

Nokia Mobile in China has started pushing the latest security patches to the China-exclusive Nokia 7. Starting July 18th, the Nokia 7 is getting the July security update. The update is globally available. So, if you are using your Nokia 7 imported from China in any other country, then also you will get this update.

The update brings nothing specific besides the latest Android security release. Hence, it is tiny at just 83MB. However, it does need over 171MB of free space to extract and install. That should not be a problem for most Nokia 7 users as it comes with 64GB of storage.

Nokia 7 July update

The update is labelled 224D.B01. It should be available to all Nokia 7 units immediately. If you haven’t received a notification yet, then head over to Settings > System > System Updates to check for it manually.

If your Nokia 7 still doesn’t receive it, then it is most likely running a tampered and unofficial global ROM. You can fix it by reverting to the official China ROM.
