HMD Global has released an Android 13 upgrade to several devices in the last few days after months of silence. The Android 13 upgrade is now available to the older Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 users. Android 13 is the last major upgrade for these G-series devices, as they were initially launched on Android 11.
Nokia Mobile has also released the Android 13 upgrade to the newer Nokia X30 5G and Nokia G60 5G devices. These phones were launched running on Android 12. Both phones run on the same platform i.e. Snapdragon 695, which answers why these devices received the updates at approximately the same time.
These 4 devices join the Nokia X10, Nokia X20, Nokia XR20, and Nokia G50, which got updated to Android 13 in 2022. Hence, the number of Nokia phones running on Android 13 reaches eight (8).
Will Nokia deliver Android 13 to eligible devices before Android 14 is officially released?
The official stable release of Android 14 is just a few months away. It would be nice if HMD Global finishes updating the existing eligible phones to Android 13 before Android 14 is officially released. That would at least make all the device users feel that they are truly “up to date” regarding the Android version.
Nokia phones that have not yet received the Android 13 upgrade
Nokia Mobile does not advertise Android OS upgrades to the phones in Nokia C-series. The X series is already fully updated to Android 13. So, Nokia Mobile has a little less burden now. The only eligible devices that haven’t received the Android 13 upgrade yet are:
- Nokia G11
- Nokia G11 Plus
- Nokia G21
- Nokia G22
- Nokia T10
- Nokia T20
- Nokia T21
All pending phones and Nokia T10 tablets run on the same platform i.e. the Unisoc T606. Hence, these devices should receive their Android 13 upgrade with minimal gap between each other.
