The VoLTE Advantage
VoLTE significantly reduces the call set-up times. It also offers a HD voice calling, hence reducing the in-call noise and disturbance. Reliance Jio became the first Indian telecom operator to offer VoLTE calling. Airtel then joined the race by offering VoLTE in some cities. Now, Vodafone along with Idea is coming out with the launch of VoLTE services.
We expect Vodafone to continue offering calling facility to subscribers who do not have VoLTE enabled handsets. Reliance Jio customers need to necessarily have an handset which offers hardware and software support for VoLTE calling. So, Vodafone will have some level of advantage to the customers still using older 4G handsets which do not come with VoLTE calling.
All Vodafone 4G customers will be upgraded to the improved VoLTE calling. All they need is a 4G SIM card and a handset which supports VoLTE calling. There are no extra charges for VoLTE calling and the pulse rate will be as per your existing plan.
If your phone supports VoLTE, then make sure that you have enabled it in your handset’s settings. The feature is usually called “VoLTE”, but some devices call it as “Enhanced Voice calls”.
